Iacovine Page

Origins

The Iacovine’s have two distinct families, the Iacovine’s who are southern Italy, and the Baginski’s who are Polish. The Italian lines all trace back to Matera of specially from the villages of Salandra and Miglionico. There is a major gap on this branch of the family as there is a foundling, and her origins are completely unknown. The Polish side of the family can be split into two branches as well. The Baginski’s are from Nasielsk and Warsaw, with major ties to Nobility. The Fizur’s are from a different part of Poland, hailing from Szubin.

Mom-Mom (Joanne Iagovino) (1946-2012)

Joanne Iagovino was born into the Polish working class neighborhood of Port Richmond in Philadelphia. She met Thomas, her husband at a dance, and would quickly marry him. While he was away in the military she acted as a secretary and later a nurse, a job that she would hold for the rest of her life, while being a housewife and raising a family. I never met her, and I sadly know very little about her, for this reason her story is uncomplete to me.
